Nhyira Co-operative Credit Union was inaugurated in June 2021, shortly after the most difficult period of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Union was established in response to the financial challenges faced by many people within the community, particularly civil servants and workers who were struggling to meet family, personal and professional responsibilities.
The vision was to create a reliable, member-owned financial institution that would encourage disciplined savings, provide responsible access to credit and give members practical support to improve their lives and businesses.
The Union was founded by the late Dr. Osei Hwiree, a respected and accomplished banker and businessman from Mampong in the Ashanti Region. His commitment to financial inclusion, enterprise and community development continues to guide the purpose of Nhyira Co-operative Credit Union.
To become a trusted and leading co-operative credit union that transforms the lives of members and contributes to sustainable community development.
To empower members through accessible savings, responsible credit, sound financial guidance and member-focused services delivered with integrity, professionalism and care.
